Capitol Hill Renovation
For the owners of this classic 1920's Capitol Hill home, space was at a premium. Their growing family needed to expand into new territory and their basement was just the place. With a new full bathroom, small kitchen, guest room and media room the old dusty storage area was transformed into a vibrant, welcoming place for the kids to play and for their extended family to stay on visits. The center posts were removed during the construction and replaced with a steel beam to create a large media room. A new bathroom was added along with a enclosed laundry closet, kitchenette, mechanical room and storage space. A ships ladder was crafted on site for the kids secret playroom reclaimed from an unused area under the front porch. New plumbing, wiring and spray foam insulation was added to keep the room functional year round.
